Moira Wilson, moira”

About moira”
Finding the right person for your business is about much more than filling a vacancy.
At moira”, recruitment is personal. It starts with understanding your business, your culture and what you need from the people you bring into your team. It is about making the right match, not just for today, but for the longer term.
Based in the Scottish Borders and working with employers across the UK, moira” supports businesses with recruitment in a way that is straightforward, honest and tailored to their needs. Whether you are making a key hire, growing your team or struggling to find the right candidates, you have a trusted partner to support you.
Clients value the personal service, practical advice and relationships that sit at the heart of how I work. You do not get a conveyor belt of CVs. You get thoughtful support from someone who takes time to understand your business and cares about getting it right.
Recruitment has always been about people for me, and people are at the centre of everything I do.
About Moira Wilson
My career has been shaped by three things that still define how I work today: understanding people, earning trust and helping businesses grow.
Understanding People
In 1992, I left the Scottish Borders to begin a career that took me to Edinburgh, Belfast, Glasgow and Milton Keynes, with a little time in Amsterdam, Cologne and Paris along the way.
Those experiences gave me the chance to work with different people, organisations and communities, and helped shape a career that has always been people focused.
When I returned to the Scottish Borders in 2005, I came back to a quieter life and a very different landscape from the one I had left. It gave me a renewed sense of connection to the area and the businesses and communities here.
In 2008, I moved into the employability sector, supporting more than 800 unemployed residents into work. That experience reinforced something I had always believed. Work changes lives and helping people recognise their potential can have a lasting impact.
Earning Trust
Following redundancy in 2017, moving into recruitment felt like a natural next step.
I began supporting employers across the Scottish Borders to find suitable candidates for their vacancies, and many of those clients are businesses I still work with today.
That says more than anything I could claim about the importance of relationships.
Trust is built over time, through listening, understanding and delivering. It comes from being honest, doing what you say you will do, and working in partnership with clients rather than simply acting as a supplier.
That approach has shaped my business from the beginning.
Helping Businesses Grow
Creating moira” brought together everything I had learned over the years.
Today, I help businesses hire with confidence, support candidates in taking the next step in their careers, and work with employers as a trusted recruitment partner focused on long-term success.
Alongside my recruitment work, I am passionate about supporting young people to develop the skills, confidence and workplace awareness they need to succeed. Helping to prepare future talent matters just as much to me as helping employers recruit today.
Strong businesses need good people, but they also need a pipeline of talent for the future.
That is why my work has always been about more than jobs.
It is about creating opportunities, building relationships and helping businesses grow through people.
If that sounds like the kind of support you are looking for, I would love to have a conversation.
“We engaged moira” to help us fill several roles last year, and we couldn't have been more impressed.
From the initial briefing through to the final offer stage, Moira was very responsive throughout to any questions we had, and genuinely understood what we were looking for.
Every candidate that was put forward, was of a high calibre and a strong fit to the position.
Moira saved us considerable time and delivered results we simply wouldn't have achieved on our own.
Using a local recruiter that lived in and understood the Scottish Borders area was also a key point.
We wouldn't hesitate to use moira” again and would recommend Moira without reservation.”
